The Minister of the Lord comes back, the man who is waiting for Parusia, because he knows it is much closer than belivers usually think, the man who channels God’s words through blues music, although some people could consider that a sacrilege. Gypsy Carns comes back with a deep serious work, with an extreme faith, hope and musically speaking, with the vitalistic spirital strength of an evangelical fighter. As usual his songs refer to Biblic texts, reciting Deuteronomy, Ezekiel or Jeremiah passages, all them with the musical support he normally does, that is to say electrifying power-blues on a trio format with Gypsy on guitar, dobro, harp and vocals, Sean O’Brian Smith and Mike Brignardello on bass and Greg Morrow and Joe Scheibelhoffer on drums. A strange combination of devil’s music with a sanctifying message. VERY GOOD.
