End Of The Age
Theme:
We are living in the end of the age. All the signs in Matthew 24 point to it. Be aware and take the appropriate action – repent and be saved before it is too late. I wrote this song in 1999 and it appeared on my “BEALE STREET SWING” CD that was released in 2000. I made this arrangement punchy and funky to add a different element to the record. Also I used a megaphone approach on the first few lines of each verse and spoke the lyrics like a preacher giving a sermon. I also opted to talk over the solo section and drive home the point that Jesus is the way to the Father.
Verse 1: Pointing out what Matthew 24 says and how the disciples even wanted to know more info.
Verse 2: Listing more of the examples Jesus gives of the end time generation.
Verse 3: The same deal – more of Matthew 24 and driving home the point to stand firm in our convictions God will save us.
Chorus: I list various scenarios as to why it is the end of the age - weather outrage; false prophets take center stage; gospel’s preached from the bible’s page - all ending with - it’s the End Of The Age.
