Theme: We have all been Searchin’ for the truth at some point in our lives. This blues based musical piece was first recorded on my “G FORCE” CD and again on the “PARIS FEEL GOOD” CD – recorded live in France in 2003 – it came out in ’04 and has been included on 3 different CD’s around the globe: in France for Guitar & Bass Magazine; England on the Cross Rhythms compilation CD and on a Blues Revue CD here in the states. I included it because it appeals to folks looking for answers and at the end - reveals the source – Jesus Christ. It is also a little break from the apocalyptic content of the other tracks. I wrote this song in 2002.
Verse 1: A common analogy – searching for the truth.
Verse 2: Searching because we are lost
Verse 3: Many of us have bibles but don’t take the time to read them
Breakdown – this is there to get the listener to think and to point out the way I got out of my Searchin’ – the music stops and I say
Verse 4: “I read the bible” – then explain the simple facts – those who ask shall receive.
Verse 5: I found out who it is I need to know – Jesus Christ - He’s the answer.
horus: The melodic solo acts as a musical chorus
Scriptures: Psalm 24:5; Matthew 21:22; John 16:24; Romans 5:6; and 1 John 3:22
SEARCHIN’ (Carns) TTM - BMI
Well I been Searchin’, oh I been Searchin’
I been Searchin; for the truth – that’s right.
Well I been Searchin’ – oh I been Searchin’
I been Searchin’ for the truth – day and night.
I got a reason, I got a reason.
I got a reason I been Searchin’ for the truth.
I lost my soul, I lost my soul,
I lost my soul and I want it back.
I got a bible, I got a bible,
But I can’t find the time to read.
It’s gonna help me, it’s gonna me.
It’s gonna help me to succeed.
Yeah..I been Serachin’…I been ….lookin’…
Know what I finally did?
I read the bible – I read the bible,
It says those who ask shall receive.
I read the bible, I read the bible,
All it takes is faith to believe.
Well I found out, oh I found out,
I found out the man I need to know.
He walked the earth, He walked the earth
Jesus Christ – He’s the man I need to know.
